Cove PREP is commited to respecting the personal dignity and rights of all residents. The following Resident Rights Statement is providedto all residents at admission:1) You have the right to be treated with fairness, respect and dignity at all times.
2) You have the right to receive quality non-descriminatory treatment without delay.
3) You have the right to retain personal possessions except those that may be considered dangerous or inappropriate during your stay.
4) You have the right to be informed of the rules of the facility.
5) You have the right to be protected from unreasonable search & seizure.
6) You have the right to exercise and recreation within your treatment plan requirements.
7) You have the right to reasonable access to a telephone to make and receive confidential calls according to treatment team recommendations and your approved contact list.
8) You have the right to send and receive unopened mail. Packages received by you will be opened in the presence of a staff member. You may keep the contents if they are not detrimental to your treatment.
9) You have the right to receive visitors during regular posted visiting hours.
10) You have the right to know the rules and regulations of this facility applicable to your treatment.
11) You have the right to be informed about any restrictions placed on you by any staff member.
12) You have the right to know the nature of the care, treatment, and medication that you will be receiving, including the risks, side effects, and benefits, especially those that may be unusual or experimental.
13) You have the right to refuse any treatment to the extent permitted by law and to be informed of the consequences of your actions.
14) You have the right to practice the religion or faith of your choice, or not to practice any religion or faith.
15) You have the right to appropriate medical, behavioral health and dental treatment.
16) You and your family have the right to lodge a greivance with the facility for an alleged violation of specific or civil rights without fear of retaliation.
17) You have the right to know the professional staff members responsible for your care.
18) You have the right to not be subjected to unusual or extreme methods of discipline which may cause psychological or physical harm.
19) You have the right to know the appropriate means of requesting a review of the complaint filed in the grievance.
20) None of the above rights may be used as a reward or sanction.
